World News | New York | New Delhi: In a landmark move to expand global academic collaboration, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University (DDUGU), under the visionary leadership of its Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Poonam Tandon, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American University for Global Peace (AUGP), USA & United Nations University For Global Peace (UNUGP), USA.
This prestigious event was held in conjunction with the United Nations International Zero Waste Day, focusing on the crucial theme: “Environment & Society for Establishing Global Peace to Build Sustainable, Developed, and Strong Nations.” The seminar emphasized the urgent need for environmental sustainability as a fundamental pillar of global peacebuilding and nation development. Thought leaders, policymakers, and academicians gathered to discuss actionable strategies for reducing environmental waste, fostering sustainable development, and promoting a harmonious global society through education and international cooperation.
The event took place at Panchsheel Balak College, Noida, in the esteemed presence of Principal H.E. Amb. Dr. Neeraj Tandan. Distinguished global dignitaries graced the occasion, including His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Mark Burns (Advisor to the Honorable President Donald Trump), Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yecenia (Jessy) Sanchez, Hon’ble Judge Mr. Sunil Singh, senior IAS officers Mr. Brijender Goal and Mr. Himanshu, and other notable personalities such as Dr. Durgesh Kapoor, Dr. Archana, H.E. The award ceremony, held in Jammu on December 23, 2024, was attended by a massive gathering, with Hon’ble PMO Minister Dr. Jitender Singh receiving the award on behalf of Prime Minister Modi.
